5:30PM-5:50PM
[READINGS OF A MADWOMAN] Extract from a continuous poem - I started a poem which I intend to continue over a series of years and I hope to read it over a series of performances, reading whatever I have written since the last performance I did, so that none of it will ever be performed again. I consider this piece of work alt lit as it is non-conformist and often random, hopefully helping to reshape the answer to 'what is poetry?' ... 6:00PM-7:05PM [SHORT FILM CORNER] Trauma by Natalie Smith Sophie’s Fortune Trailer by Chris Cronin & Phil Meachem Rock N Roll Never Dies by Paulo Martinho & Lousie Schmidt The Little Things by Paulo Martinho M.A.D. by Nico Kolleta Malleable Talents by Bogna 7:10PM-7:50PM [THEATER PLAY] Hobby Horse Written by David Adair Hobby Horse is a dry comedy that uses the impending Olympics to look at pastimes and the pitfalls of taking them too seriously! Joe: 'It’s a sad, sad state of affairs when the biggest hatred you have is for a team who plays a completely different sport, yet shares the same first name as your club!' [LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES] 8:00PM-8:40PM WEATHER Weather is the name of a 23-year-old folk-blues phenomenon from Los Angeles, California that is currently playing her unique style of acoustic music at venues across the UK. 8:50PM-9:30PM SAM HAINE & THE BLOODFLAMES are a Manchester based band who mix complex melodies with lyrics of melancholy humour and invention. Sounds like Jeff Buckley meets Owen Pallett meets Bruce Springsteen in a post apocalyptic landscape... with tea lights 09:40PM-10:20PM FAMILY WOLVES a six piece good looking, smartly dressed psychedelic folk drone band. Sounds like Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan delivering a droney foot stomping set of chaotic noise and sweet melodical harmonies. 10:30PM-11:00PM PETROL BASTARD A 2-piece (Ben Atomgrinder and Jon Tetsuo ) techno-punk outfit from Leeds (likely to be a 3rd member present - live DJ). Only recently established on the live circuit, and already gaining a reputation for insanely energetic stage-shows, and hard/fast/nasty music with snarling vocals and disgusting lyrics.
