My mom would read Phenomenal Woman, by Maya angelou, to me at betimes. When I got older she would give me audio tapes of poetry and great poets. My mom was attempting to make me the strong woman she is- the secure woman she is- the selfless woman she is- the grounded woman she is ... Maybe, this poem will effect someone who has never heard of it. Maybe, it will open the doors of creativity for all the poets here.
