I will never lose the love for my first love.
At first there was this poem, then I put it to music, recorded it and made a video.
Most times we put on our best face for the world, but the one who loves us sees through to our flaws and loves us in spite of them.
For those that have loved so hard and taken steps that they thought were helping the person that they loved thinking it was a sacrifice. I wrote this after reading Wilson Mooney Eighteen at Last.
Laying in pain one night, I created a mantra. Something like this....

Love with a lethal twist..
What keeps you going...?
This poem is about Alzheimer’s disease in recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness month. We never realize how precious our memories are until the moment our memories are gone.
“[Henry David] Thoreau is a keen and delicate observer of nature - a genuine observer - which, I suspect, is almost as rare a character as even an original poet; and Nature, in return for his love, seems to adopt him as her especial child, and shows him secrets which few others are allowed to witness.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne (Journal entry, September 1, 1842)
This is a poem anyone can relate to whether you've been hurt or hurt someone else dear to you. Male or female.
With Businesses taking so much infrastructure out of bush towns it leaves many bush youths no option but to head for the city. Some kids do well but not all. Many of our Vietnam Veterans faced big struggles after they returned as well as their family members. I wanted to combine the situations into one th make folk aware.
I had the idea of putting the love of poetry with ballet accompanied by violins, hope you enjoy.
I wouldn't have been the only woman to die at the hands of someone she loved, but, I would be the only me to have died at the hands of a man she loved.
There are a lot of movies that uses poetry in its script. Take for example, John Singleton's "Poetic Justice" and "Out of Africa" by Sydney Pollark. Yet I was moved the most by the 2010 release "For Colored Girls," directed by Tyler Perry. It was adapted from the stage play written by Ntozake Shange originally titled "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf."
Written to evince emotion in the reader
More word play that perhaps students of NLP may recognise.
poetry that speaks to the senses of all nations and races with all ages about a young boy heading to school and told about the power that words have in ones life.
Gender Politics v. The Universal Poet - questions the wisdom/validity of excluding poets from participation by gender.
poem written after "Tarumba" by the Mexican Poet Jaime Sabines.
poem that became the lyrics to a track for the Temple of Sound album "Globalead"
This is my sexy, fun experiment. I read a very sexy book that inspired this poem. Sometimes I just want to write about passion without the tragedy.
We are all capable of great things, great moments, greatness ... But, we cannot perform and enjoy the rewards of our greatness unitl we understand the measure of ourselves, the depth of our personal beliefs must be a oneness of mind, body, soul, and spirit.
I spent many summer nights playing hide the thimble. The only rule was that the thimble be hid in plain sight. At times it was on the end of Grammas little finger or over the buttons on her overalls. When I was 15, my 7 year old brother was killed in a car accident. I had spent alot of time with him. He new the words to my music.Carry on my Wayward Son, by Kansas and Sugar Mountain By Neil Young. My innocent poetic heart sucked in life with all it had to offer.I was so grief stricken after his death that i cried for three months; resulting in Trench Mouth, a condition that causes the gums to poor blood if any sucking motion is performed. It was in this greif that i realized to the level my heart could break it could also love. Iwas capable of great love!
Daddy, look into my infant eyes
When you hold me and speak to me;
See that I am listening
And feeling safe and at ease.
And although I have not learned to form words,
If I could speak,
I would say,
"I'll always need you".
Hate, in all it's varying forms, is the only thing, besides death, that makes life un-heavenly. I burn hate with words, like seeds in a field the farmer had to cinge to save the rest of the crops.
