Poems By: Rice Barber

Not many things can be seen,

when the eyes are covered by wool,

and even the smartest man,

turns out to be a fool.

The biggest ruler of all is time,

along with the rush of living,

taking, taking, and giving none,

losing sight of the moon,

while in pursuit of the sun.

Keep your eyes peeled,

even through the squinted eye,

for the forces of life are closing in,

seeking to conquer you and I.

nothing is quite as it seems,

here on this planet of mine,

and the truth lies between the seams,

either notice the warnings

or else face the wrath of the signs.

Did I mention pay attention,

for a time is coming soon,

when man will finally realize,

how to heal this bleeding wound.

Nice poem! Very deep! It provokes thought and demands a 2nd and 3rd reading for its full understanding - signs of a good poem! Keep it coming!
